Some of my favorite country homes worldwide are those created from old industrial or agricultural buildings. This gem in the south of France was converted into a country villa out of an old oil mill from the 19th century. I love that they've preserved many of the original masonry on their interior instead of slapping plaster over everything. Those gorgeous steel and plate factory windows aren't too shabby either. The rustic architecture is given a modern update with it's open, loft like living plan.
