When I saw this image I developed immediate and intense kitchen envy! It doesn't help that my rental kitchen is everything I hate, fake granite counters and cherry cabinetry. Already beautiful empty, I couldn't resist throwing together an inspiration board. You know, for when I move in...I wish!
I won't deny it this kitchen, like many in the urban environment, is short on storage space. Where will all those pots and pans go? I have two solutions. The first would be to install a iron rod in front of the lower portion of the window to hang them from. The second would be to hang them from hooks underneath the island (to the right of the white pedestal). As for the le Creuset right on the stovetop and simply move it out of the way when cooking.
1. Kilim Runner - placed between the cabinets and the island for a little color and comfort.
2. Wire Globe Pendants - two clusters of these industrial styled pendants over the island.
3. Bonjour French Press - Only the best way to make coffee; and stylish to boot!
4. Le Creuset - the most versatile piece of cookware; I recommend the 5.5 quart french oven.
5. Linen Kitchen Towel - I love this dishtowel with it's French inspired red stripes.
6. Water Color Cup & Saucer - a collection of hand painted teacups & mugs for morning coffee.
8. Dining Room Measuring Spoons - fun, counter accessories.
9. Recycled Wine Rack - adds more industrial flare to the space. I envision it sitting upright against the left of the island.
10. Appellation Utensil Jar - you need some way to contain spatulas and other utensils.
11. Copper Cookware - It dosen't have to be copper but I think its lovely to look at.
12. Wooden Counter Block - keep that fabulous island safe from knives by using a chopping block instead.
